UMD Model 690 series
Active Frame RFID Reader

The UMD RFID-ActiveFrame, Model 690 Series, incorporates contactless RFID readers, WiFi communications and a software customisable embedded controller behind a versatile A4 poster clip-frame which can be hung on a wall or stood on a counter-top in either portrait or landscape orientations.

The frame will display marketing collateral encouraging registered users to record their interest by touching an RFID customer token (eg contactless wristband or smartcard) against defined areas on the frame.

Two RFID read points are provided as standard (top left and top right hand corners in A4 portrait mode), but can support up to 4 read points.

Some typical definitions for these read points are “yes” and “no”, “Register Interest” and “Facebook Like”.

The ID of the token is transmitted via WiFi wireless communication to connect with a marketing web service in real-time, typically via the internet, for processing.
